I am a Tech blog lol

So I’ve started my own tech blog (for personal stuff mainly, not so much news), seems like everyone in the tech fields are writing their own blog, so why not me?  I’m working through my IT training at the moment (Yeah I am not “officially” in the IT field yet, but hey I am close), I am in my network+ class right now.   Its fun, kinda dry but its cool.

I’m going to Wichita Technical Institute which is quite a fun school.  I like most of the teachers and unlike alot of tech schools you’re not learning basic crab but rather jumping face first into the mud you need.  I plan on eventually, as part of my “goal”, to become a system admin.  I am currently taken, which I am quite satisfied with.

I after this course is over I plan on continuing my education at Career Savers which offers tons of offerings in the ways of courses (Planning on eventually getting that awesome looking CEH (certified ethical hacker) course.

I think I am also gonna suggest a few tools for firefox to make it do stuff.

I know alot of people are gonna argue with me but I personally use chatzilla.  Its easy to set up, costs nothing and its pretty easy to use on the whole.  It offers a few normal features, does not yet have scripting (which is kinda sad but at the same time its okay, unless you wanna run a room which I suggest getting Xchat, and screw mIRC as it costs money, and money is bad)

This is Love – Case Mod

I am in love with this mostly, sans the phone on the side, that seems a little excessive. But generally I give this thing a thumbs up, its original, cleaver, and it fits just oh-so-well. A+ Creator, A+. Now if someone would make a Super Shroom from Super Mario Bros. into a PC, I'd be buying that up in a second.

Yeah its awesome

Its a mix of the age-old windows vs. linux but with virtual on and Giant Robots instead of nerds yelling at each other.  I will get the bad outta the way.  The music is repetitive.  its not horrible, but its not good, they coulda done better.

Its a fun game, addictive kinda, I suggest getting it

The Bad Endings of Video Games & tech tip

Is it just me, or are the bad endings of video games way more interesting than the good, average or ambiguous endings of games.  I will be using the game NEKO KAWAIGARI by 13cm, inwhich a Catgirl is shot in the face by another catgirl and a catgirl dies from a disease (LoLabies perhaps?).

Why do I like the bad endings?  Because, good endings are dull, tend to be dull. Especially in Eroge games.  I am sure animated sex fests are fun and all but what about the drama, or a better understanding of the world.  Alot of games are guilty of these so I am not gonna just point my fingers at Eroge games…but I do compliment them on their Bad Endings.

Also of note is the endings for the Silent Hill games which have very well done and creepy-as-sin bad endings.  Of course their joke endings are just as awesome.

But I also believe a good ending can be awesome if the good ending isn’t tacky like alot of games. Once again Silent Hill does well with the Good Endings and tend to make the game more engaging with the good endings.  But I am rambling now.

I have set up a Belkin G Wireless Router in my home, and to be honest, shit sucks.

How to connect your Linux PC to an XP Share

Ready? GO!

First guide I am writing ken, so here I go.

First off I am using My Documents as an example.


enter shared name, share permission

Apply -> OK

Then open Start Menu and click run -> CMD

in the command prompt window
type ipconfig /all and get your ip

Within linux with SAMBA installed (and probably a GUI)
Press Alt + F2 to Bring up Run Application

Type
SMB://IP Address/Shared Folder name

It will ask for domain information
Type in your XP User Name
Domain Name -> Computer Name
Type in the Password for your XP Machine
Click Connect

There you go.
